You MUST install this add-on in BOTH Thunderbird and supported clients as there are both client AND server portions which communicate via a TCP/IP socket.
Firefox Install
Installation into Firefox from the page below could not be easier. Simply click the INSTALL NOW link on the page linked below. An install dialog will be shown. Just press the INSTALL button and wait for the installtion to complete.
Other Installs
Note that installation into Thunderbird and Sunbird is only a little more difficult than it is for Firefox (this is due to the internal mechanisms of these programs rather than because of any issue with the addon - these instructions would apply to ANY addon).
- Right click INSTALL NOW on the page linked below and choose SAVE LINK AS... Save the thunderbirdbiff xpi that is shown in the File Save dialog onto your computer's hard disk in a location that you can remember. It need be stored there only temporarily.
- Once the file has been downloaded and stored, select the Tools->Extensions menu item in Thunderbird (Tools->Add-ons in Sunbird). Then press the INSTALL button on the dialog that is displayed. An install dialog will be shown. Just press the INSTALL button and wait for the installtion to complete.
- Once you have completed the install, there is no need to keep the xpi file downloaded in step 1 any longer. Feel free to delete it from your hard disk.
